Making Progress

So I'm definitely making progress in my classroom, but there is definitely still more to do! I did some garage sale shopping this weekend to start my classroom library and I definitely found a lot. I'm also realizing how crafty I can be! I've made pencil canisters, a "No Name" board, and I'm working on a behavior management board. I'll show you my pencil canisters today and hopefully the "No Name" board tomorrow (it's still a work in progress). However, the pencil canisters were the easiest things ever to make! All you need are 2 Folgers coffee canisters, a cute border, and a cute font. I print out the label and font then just tapped it on the Folgers canisters. Super easy!

I'm starting to feel better about things. I was feeling overwhelmed for a while, but I'm realizing that everything will be okay. I've met a few of the other teachers on the 3rd grade team and they all seem really nice! Anyways, I think that is about it for now. I've got New Teacher Orientation with the county tomorrow so I'm sure that will be interesting. So for today, I will leave you with a picture of my pencil canisters.

First Post!

So this is officially my first post as an elementary school teacher! It is super exciting and nerve-wracking all at the same time. Let me give you a little bio about myself. I just graduated from college in December and beginning in August, I will be a teacher in 3rd grade. I've grown up loving sports all my life. I played softball all throughout school and am also an avid football fan (specifically the Falcons!). I'm splitting seasons tickets this year so this will be the first time that I will be able to regularly go see the Falcons play. And BTW, I'm calling it now... The Falcons WILL go all the way this year! Anyways, I digress.... I started setting up my classroom this weekend and it is definitely a work in progress and I hope to continue making progress this week. I'll post a few pictures so you can have an idea of how far along I'm progressing.

Bulletin board. Go Falcons! :)

Seating arrangement of class. 5 groups of 5... Haven't decide if I'm keeping that or not.

Anyways, I'm sure that more will be to come! I have New Teacher Orientation at my school this week so I'm hoping there will be time to work in my classroom. My goal this year is to keep up with a blog and hope to get input from other teachers out there!
